Paradisus Punta Cana all Inclusive Beach Resort

To begin, the airport is only around 20 minutes to the resort, so the traveling was pleasant. When we arrived at the Paradisus Punta Cana we went looking for the public Relations representative whom I may add, told us he would be awaiting our arrival. Needless to say, no one knew of us, and the Representative was off that day. Our stay did improve vastly as we went along.

We did receive a very nice room not far from the beach and all of the activities. We would have preferred an ocean view like everyone else, but we were not that fortunate. Our room was very nice in size, clean, with an elegant living area on a different level from the sleeping area, furnished terrace, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, large bathroom (including hair dryer and shaving mirror), king-sized bed, remote-controlled satellite color television, refrigerator full of goodies, direct telephone and safety deposit box. However, our room was missing an alarm clock so that you know what time it is when you take that late day, before dinner catnap. All in all, we found the room to be very much to our liking.

The pool area was fabulous, and it seemed as though it was miles in size. Very tropical, with a fountain in the middle. At the pool bar you can cool off with some tropical drinks, beer, soda, you name it. If you are a smoker, the stogies are there for the taking. The pool area was definitely a place to relax and unwind.

At the beach is where you will find me most of the time. The beach is a paradise of turquoise water, white fine sand, and a very magnificent breeze. Oh, I wish I were lounging now! The beach area was truly amazing, every activity such as: snorkeling, scuba, kayaking, parasailing just to name a few. You can also play tennis, do aerobics, play volleyball, the list just goes on and on. If you prefer, you may just relax in the wonderful tranquility. Take a relaxing walk down the beach, (it goes for miles and miles) and check out some of the other resorts, or stop off at some of the souvenir shops and get some great buys. In front of the Paradisus there is a spot where several lovely ladies display their fabulous Van Leve Swimsuits, which you may purchase. Throughout the day these ladies model their suits. If you like, click on this Paradisus Beaches link, and check out the beach, the swimsuit ladies and the souvenir shops.

Restaurants, restaurants and more restaurants are what you will find at the Paradisus. Very impressive ones at that… The cuisine at Paradisus Punta Cana's ten all-inclusive restaurants is a mosaic of exquisite flavors. The Hybiscus Restaurant, the resort's main restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet-style steps away from the beach. For different theme dinning the hotel offers seven a la carte options: "Sakura" for Japanese cuisine; the "Chinese Pavilion" the Spanish fare of the "Albufera.", the Mexican "Antojitos", Italian "La Dolce Vita", French "El Romántico" and Fish and Sea food "Marino", Informal lunch can be enjoyed at "La Palapa Grill Barbecue", or either Pizzeria Dolce Vita, the main Buffet "Hibiscus Pastries and small snacks are available throughout the day. You may also request room service if you like having breakfast on your balcony once in a while, like I do. In my opinion, all of the restaurants were elegant, authentic and offered fabulous food and wine.

You can keep in shape at the fully equipped Fitness Center (weight room, gymnasium, sauna and Jacuzzi). The weight room is magnificent; it offers everything from cardio machines to free weights, however it is missing one thing, a barbell set up for bench pressing. Anyway, the sauna and Jacuzzi's are wonderful, and you can relax with a soothing massage if you like.

Paradisus Punta Cana is a very large resort, and for your convenience there is an open aired bus which runs around every 5 to 10 minutes which will take you where ever you want to go. There is a wonderful tropical lobby area which offers a very nice bar, an area where they perform some real entertaining shows at night, a nice little disco if you like music and dancing, and a charming gift shop for all of your needs. The lobby area also offers a fabulous casino so you can win some money!

The day before we were scheduled to depart, we were contacted by the Paradisus Manager, Mr. Francisco Castillo. He explained to us, that he had been away on holiday, and he was very sorry he could not spend some time with us. Well, we meet him for a brief moment, and he was gracious and a gentlemen, as was just about all of the staff at the Paradisus. In any case we had a real good time at the Paradisus Punta Cana, and for the cost, you will not find a better place. Its charming, tropical and relaxing, the food is fabulous, and I would return there again and again. Click on this Paradisus link and check it out...

Now with all of that said, remember we visited this Island during the low season in the May June time of year. The place was half full, so treatment and relaxation were easy to do. We have heard other stories which were not as flattering as our review from readers who attended the Dominican during the peak season. So be aware!
